SOLID HARDWOOD FLOORING

Solid hardwood flooring is made up of planks that are cut out as a solid block right from the tree. The wood blocks are then sawn into solid flooring planks with tongue and grooves edges.
Engineered wood floors are real wood floors made using multiple wood or wood composite veneers. The veneers can be the same or different species. The grain of each veneer runs in different directions, which increases its stability. This means the wood will resist expanding and contracting during fluctuations in humidity and temperature. This product comes prefinished from the factory or raw.
With factory-finished wood flooring, the finish is applied at the factory. These floors require less time to install because the sanding and finishing process has already been completed. The floors are ready to walk on immediately following our installation.
With unfinished wood flooring, we will sand the wood and apply the finish on the job site. There are several finish options available. This is the best option if you are looking for a specific color or need to match existing flooring.
Solid hardwood flloor obviously have a thicker wear surface meaning they can be sanded and finished more times than an engineered wood floor.
There are two basic types of hardwood floors available - solid and engineered, and three styles of installation -strip, plank, and parquetry. Each style is available in a variety of species, colours, and widths, so choosing a style is simply a matter of aesthetics.
